The documentation, organised into annual files, probably arranged at the time of their delivery and/or arrival at the Historical Diplomatic Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is heterogeneous, although it consists mainly of received correspondence.
In order to provide more information to those consulting this small archive, an attempt has been made to list the recurring correspondents.
The following have been identified
1) institutional correspondents:
- the officers of the Legation in Constantinople
- consular officers stationed in Beirut (the proconsulate of Aleppo depended on that Consulate)
- local interlocutors (consuls of other nations, for example)
- other Sardinian consuls in the Levant

2) other interlocutors, often nationals residing in the area
